A-Z Guide to Summer Fun in St. Louis

School’s out for the summer! Are you looking for activities to keep your kids busy and enjoy what St. Louis has to offer? We compiled an A-Z Guide of our favorite summer activities in St. Louis.

Amtrak– Take the kids for a day trip! The train is a great way to take an affordable day trip that the kids will love.

Butterfly House– The Butterfly House is great for all times of the year, but check out their event calendar for some truly great summer activities.

Citygarden– A great place to spend a hot day!

City Museum– Escape the heat and let your kids have a day of fun and exploration. Great for kids and adults alike!

Drive in Movies– Spend a beautiful summer evening with your family at the drive-in Movie Theater at Skyview.

Eckerts– With 3 locations around town, spend the day picking peaches and enjoying the farm. Check their event calendar for summer concerts, cooking classes and more!

Food Truck Fridays– Bring your family to Tower Grove Park on Friday’s to enjoy tasty food truck grub. Bring a blanket and stay for the music and entertainment.

Forest Park – Enjoy a relaxing picnic or a fun day of paddle boating and fishing!

Grant’s Farm– Visit the Budweiser Clydesdales, feed the goats and admission is free! Free sample of Anheuser-Busch beer for those over 21 years old.

Hot Air Balloon Race– The Great Forest Park Balloon Race is the oldest and most well-attended free hot air balloon race in the world! Mark your calendars for September 19 and 20, 2014.

International Children’s Film Festival– Films are screened August 1-10, they include international and American animated and live action films. Great for kids ages 6-16.

Jewel Box– The Jewel Box is now open after a $3.5 million dollar renovation with all new glass panes and upgrades!

Kirkwood Greentree Festival– The festival is held September 12-14 in Kirkwood Park. There will be food, drinks, crafts, games and more! The parade is 10:00am on September 13.

Laumeier Sculpture Park– Free to the public all year, bring the family out for a stroll around the park admiring the art and sculptures. Check their calendar for Food Truck Friday dates.

Muny Opera- There are some great family friendly shows this summer including Tarzan, Seussical and Grease!

Magic House– The first interactive children’s museum, great for children of all ages! Check their calendar for free days and events.

Missouri Botanical Gardens– Sign your kids up for classes at the Botanical Gardens. From May 24- September 7 stop by to see handmade exhibits created from LEGO bricks.

The Nest– Does your child have a summer birthday? The Nest “stay and play creative café” is a great place for parties or perfect for a nice lunch with the kids.
